Plants Struggle for Survival in the Dry Powdery Volcanic Dust. Exposed to the Intense Sunlight, Hill Tops & Slopes Are Deadly to Plant Life Since the Rare Rain Water Runs Down the Slopes, and the Remaining Moisture Quickly Evaporates. This Leaves only Parched Dust.
At the motorcycle I unpack everything, get out the long underwear and put it on, then clothes, then sweater, then jacket. Im still cold. .. I step through the spongy dust

Somewhere North of, but close to, La Pine, OR. In addition to the frost, you can see the spongy dust in the photo. While camping there. I had to push my tent way under those pines. This was the only place where there was a thin mat of pine needles, so I could get away from the sticky dust! I am sure the rugs of my car still have the residuum of this dust from my shoes!
